The Art of Structural Elegance

We recently completed a truly standout project: a cantilever floating staircase designed and built for a beautiful old home. The brief was simple — the result, anything but. The client wanted a one-off design that felt ultra-modern, artistic, and timeless, yet still respectful of the building's character. The result was a stunning fusion of form and function.

This was not your average staircase. From concept to completion, it was a highly complex job that required full structural design, precision steelwork, and close collaboration with the client to ensure every detail was perfect. The hidden steel spine gives the staircase its dramatic floating effect, while the floating European oak treads were chosen for their strength, beautiful grain, and warm tone. Each tread was illuminated with subtle integrated lighting, creating a soft glow that highlights the craftsmanship even in low light.

We used 22mm laminated and toughened glass balustrades — crystal clear, sleek, and safe — that enhance the open, floating feel while delivering strength and durability. Every component was made to measure and installed with millimetre precision.

These kinds of staircases are investments — not just in structure, but in statement. They require thoughtful design, skilled execution, and a shared vision between builder and client. We love doing this kind of work and would be excited to speak with anyone considering something similar. If you’re looking for a truly unique staircase that combines engineering brilliance with architectural beauty, let’s talk.
